Kimberley SPCA / DBV

The Kimberley SPCA, established in 1902, is the only operational SPCA in the Northern Cape. We cover a large area and face increasing challenges due to high unemployment rates and a growing number of animals in impoverished communities. Despite limited funds, we tirelessly respond to calls for assistance and investigate cruelty complaints in surrounding areas. Our work involves costly trips on gravel roads, and we rely on the support of our community. The SPCA’s history in Kimberley dates back to the late 1800s, and after several relocations, we settled in our current location in 1998 thanks to a generous donation. We continue to expand and improve our facilities to better serve the animals in need.
