Hermanus Animal Welfare Society

HAWS, situated at 4 Steenbras Street, Industria, Hermanus, has been in operation since 1983. The organization was fortunate to receive a generous donation of the property, which allowed them to provide crucial care and services for animals in the communities of Hermanus, Mount Pleasant, Zwelihle, and Hawston. Starting with just a few kennels, HAWS has expanded to include a dedicated cattery, kennels, and an animal welfare clinic on the premises. In addition to these facilities, HAWS operates two charity retail shops, with one located in the CBD and the other at the Gateway Centre. These shops play a significant role in generating income for the organization. It is important to note that HAWS does not receive any financial support or assistance from government departments and relies solely on its own fundraising efforts to sustain its operations.
