The Sanctuary, a women-owned non-profit company, is managed by a small staff and occasional volunteers. Their responsibilities include various tasks like carcass retrieval, butchering, feeding, maintenance, finances, and guided tours. The Sanctuary is primarily self-funded through donations, sponsorships, and tours. To avoid supporting captive wolves, breeding is not practiced, and all unsterilized animals undergo tubal litigation or vasectomy. The goal is to provide a habitat that closely resembles their natural environment within the South African climate. The 22.7-hectare land includes enclosures and adjacent veterinary isolation camps. The lush vegetation and minimal disturbance allow the animals privacy while also providing observers with the opportunity to study them quietly.
