The Paterson family has been cultivating this beautiful land since 1989. They have created a serene haven for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Here, you can unwind, relax, and immerse yourself in nature. Enjoy an array of hiking, running, and mountain biking trails right at your doorstep.

We offer three secluded self-catering cottages, each fully equipped with everything you need for a perfect getaway. Our cottages are ideal for families or groups of friends and are also pet-friendly. So, your furry companions are welcome to join the adventure.

The Main House

The Retreat Main House is the ultimate escape for families to unwind and relax. Nestled among groves of trees and apple orchards, it offers complete privacy. Therefore, this spacious house is perfect for large families or groups of friends, providing ample sleeping space and entertainment areas.

Somerlus Cottage

Somerlus Cottage is a charming 3-bedroom self-catering retreat. It’s perfect for weekend getaways or longer stays. Located at the foot of Perdekop, it overlooks the serene Langberg dam, providing a picturesque setting for your holiday.

Langeberg Cottage

Sleeps: 4 Guests

Langeberg Cottage is the ideal spot for a quiet weekend away with your loved ones or close friends. This cozy hideaway features a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor braai on the patio. Moreover, it’s within walking distance of trails, the Langberg dam, and the scenic Perdekom and Beacon Aisle hikes.

Mountain Biking

Retreat Guest Farm boasts over 25km of pristine single-track trails. Perfect for both novice and experienced riders, you’ll enjoy technical loops and easier gravel sections. Additionally, the Beacon Aisle ridge and Perdekop climb offer stunning views.

Trail Running & Hiking

Discover the beauty of the Cape Floral Kingdom with our extensive network of trails. Ideal for avid trail runners and hikers, you can tackle the challenging Perdekop climb or enjoy a leisurely stroll on the Beacon Aisle ridge.

Swimming & Kayaking

Our large dam on Langberg Farm is just a short walk from both Somerlus and Langeberg cottages and a brief drive from Retreat Main House. Guests can kayak on the dam or swim in our pristine pools. For a serene experience, enjoy a sundowner by the reservoir pool on Langberg Farm.

Bouldering & Rock Climbing

Explore incredible rock formations perfect for bouldering and rock climbing. While our climbs aren’t graded, all adventurers are welcome to bring their equipment and challenge themselves.

Bird Watching

Retreat Guest Farm is home to a diverse array of bird species. Spot the majestic Secretary Bird, Verreaux’s Eagle, Gymnogene, and various owl species as you explore.

Yellowwood Trail

Enjoy a gentle 1.5km walk through a lush forest of Yellowwood and Kliphout trees. This scenic trail, just a 10-minute walk from Langeberg and Somerlus Cottages, offers centuries-old rock paintings as well as a magical forest experience.
