SPCA Cape Of Good Hope

Established in 1872, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the pioneering organization in South Africa’s SPCA movement and holds the distinction of being the country’s oldest animal welfare institution. As a registered non-profit organization (NPO 003-244) and Public Benefit Organization (PBO 930004317), our operations rely on the generous support of individuals and corporations. With a steadfast commitment spanning 150 years, we diligently fulfill our mission to combat animal cruelty. This encompasses various initiatives such as education, law enforcement, veterinary care services (including an animal hospital and four mobile clinics that serve underprivileged communities), an Animal Care Centre, Horse Care and Farmyard, as well as a dedicated Wildlife department.
