Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary McGregor

At Eseltjiesrus, our primary focus is to provide a forever home and compassionate care for destitute donkeys that have been rescued. Over the years, we have provided care for more than thirty donkeys at our Sanctuary and have also found suitable foster homes for additional donkeys. Each donkey receives attentive care and is checked on at least twice a day. We ensure their well-being by cleaning their eyes and hooves, applying fly repellent, and treating any minor wounds or infections. Their diet consists of three types of hay, provided twice a day, and elderly or underweight donkeys receive additional soft food in a separate enclosure. Our site is diligently managed, including irrigation, removal of manure, and regular fence inspections.
