Cataholics Kitty Shelter

Cataholics Kitty Shelter, a non-profit, no-kill cat welfare organisation, has dedicated itself to improving the lives of unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens since 2000. We do not receive government funding and rely on animal lovers’ generous support as well as donations throughout Gauteng. Our dedicated network of volunteers and fosterers work tirelessly to find loving homes for hundreds of cats each year.

Our Mission at Cataholics Kitty Shelter:

• Sterilize, rehabilitate, as well as responsibly re-home cats.
• Ensure a safe, healthy, and stress-free environment for all fostered kittens.
• Promote adoption and educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

Foster Care Program

We run a foster care-based program, raising kittens in foster homes throughout Johannesburg. Meanwhile, everyday individuals with a love for cats nurture the kittens in their homes until they are ready for adoption. Cataholics Kitty Shelter covers all food and medical costs for the foster kittens. If you’re interested in becoming a foster family, please complete the application form on our website.

Cataholics Adoption Process

1. Find Your Kitten: Visit our Facebook page to see available kittens for adoption.
2. Application: Complete the adoption application form on our website.
3. Screening: Engage in a screening process with the foster mom to ensure a good match.
4. Adoption Agreement: Once approved, sign the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee via EFT.

Adoption Fees

• 8-12 Weeks: R750 (includes first vaccinations, dewormer, and discount vouchers for second vaccinations as well as sterilization)
• 12-24 Weeks: R900 (includes second vaccinations and a sterilization voucher)
• 24+ Weeks: R1,200 (includes all vaccinations as well as sterilization)

Adoption Requirements

• All kittens must be sterilized by 6 months of age.
• Breeding with a Cat-a-holics Kitty is strictly prohibited.
• Current pets (cats & dogs) must be sterilized before adopting.

Casa De Kitty – Boutique Cat Hotel

We offer luxurious indoor and outdoor facilities at our cattery, ensuring each cat or family of cats has their own private space. The runs are equipped with sneeze barriers and concrete floors for thorough disinfection. We recommend bringing your cat’s bed and favorite toys for comfort. You must vaccinate, deworm, and de-flea all boarders one week before boarding. If your cat needs veterinary care during their stay, you will be responsible for the payment.
